JOB SUMMARY:
Senior Enterprise Data Governance Analyst delivers decision solutions. They design and harness D2L data and processes to enable and scale D2L decision framework. They are responsible for evaluating, designing, developing and governing business intelligence assets enabling operational and strategic analysis across D2L corporate teams and through the customer journey.
Major Responsibilities (How Will I Make an Impact?):
- Facilitates collaboration with cross-functional business units to identify and capitalize on strategic data opportunities for improving operational efficiency and promoting business transformation
- Create technical designs from functional specifications and implement as working business intelligence solutions
- Lead the development of the data architecture to illustrate as-is and to-be designs that support strategic initiatives
- Demonstrate thought leadership to help cross functional team develop new ways (leading/lagging) to measure business performance health
- Work side-by-side with IT to translate the business needs to our data infrastructure plan, including scoping out both enhancements and net new technology solutions
- Leverage best practices to prepare insightful reports and presentations targeted for specific audiences
- Proactively assess the needs of the team to Problem solve for ongoing operational needs as they arise using strategic expertise
- Works with large amounts of data to draw conclusions: rationalizing, facts, figures, and number crunching
- Design and deploy enterprise wide communication strategy and lead internal commercialization to promote information and decision solutions
- Mentor and provide on-going support to cross functional business teams
Competencies (What you’ll bring to the role):
- Strong background in programming (SAS/Python/R) and databases (SQL, DB2) knowledge, ability to process and analyze large volumes of data
- Extensive Experience manipulating large and complex databases
- Strong background in reporting automation through BI tools like Tableau, Power BI etc.
- Extensive functional and technical knowledge of advanced data management processes (ETL vs ELT, building automated processes for data acquisition, integration, and consumption)
- Ability to create and maintain metrics, while understanding how to effectively articulate those metrics to the business to effect change or influence
- Ability to Influence change across cross-functional teams with the different levels of the organization
- Strong multi-tasking and organization skills with the ability to flex and remain objective
- Well-developed project management skills including exceptional attention to detail
- Strong communication skills appropriate for all levels of the organization
Education Recommendations:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or diploma with supplemental business education preferred, or equivalent training and experience
