D2L Recognized as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers

D2L continues winning streak with three new awards: Canada's Best Diversity Employers, Canada’s Top Employers for Young People, and Waterloo Area’s Top Employers

Press Release

D2L, a global learning technology company, has earned three employer of choice awards in 2023 through Canada’s Top 100 annual editorial competition, including recognition as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers.

“Here at D2L, we value diversity and aim to shape a work environment that creates an inclusive environment for all employees,” said Yvonne Bell, Senior Vice President of People and Culture at D2L. “I’d like to thank the people at Canada’s Top 100 Employers for recognizing the hard work of our People and Culture team as well the contributions of our inclusive culture that supports employees at all stages of their career journey.”

Canada’s Best Diversity Employers recognizes employers across Canada that have exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs. On March 8, D2L was named one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers, for its five-pillar approach to diversity equity and inclusion as well as its robust training to enhance employee and manager knowledge and expectations. D2L trains its employees on topics like unconscious bias, gender equity, allyship, gender inclusive communication, and power and privilege. The company also sponsors employment resource groups including Women in Action, BIPOC Employee Network (BEN), D2SLGBTQ+, Indigenous education and allyship, and others.

This award comes on the heels of two other employer of choice awards:

  • In January 2023, D2L was recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for the ninth year. This award recognizes employers offering the nation’s best workplaces and programs for young people starting their careers. D2L was recognized for the programs and initiatives it offers to attract and retain younger workers, including developing future leaders through its LEAD (Learning, Engagement and Development) program. The LEAD program helps D2L employees grow and move to the next level in their careers.

  • In November 2022, D2L was also recognized as one of Waterloo Area’s Top Employers Award for the twelfth consecutive year. D2L was selected for its employee development programs, stand-out employee benefits, and Bravo recognition program that consists of awards and gift cards.
